OpenAI is constantly improving ChatGPT to handle as many activities as possible. Now we have the scheduled tasks feature, thanks to which you can ask the chatbot to send you a reminder or specific information on a certain topic at a certain time.
ChatGPT has learned to plan
The main advantage of these smart reminders is that you will always receive up-to-date information on the specified topic, which is not possible in the case of classic reminders, for example on a mobile phone, because you write them yourself in the past, when the information may no longer be current.
How to create such a smart reminder? It’s simple – just tell the chatbot what information you want to remind and at what time. He will save the reminder and when the time comes, he will send you a notification to your mobile phone or e-mail. As I have seen for myself, it is not difficult. However, it is ideal to have the application installed for proper functionality.
What are the new feature’s capabilities and limitations?
The reminders functionality is still in beta, so it doesn’t always work flawlessly. For example, sometimes there is a problem with setting the reminder to an exact time, such as 10:47 AM. This shortcoming should be fixed with the next improvement of the beta version. The maximum number of comments that can currently be created is 10.
With these scheduled tasks, you can schedule almost anything – from current weather information to a specific company’s stock price – and the data will always be up to date, which is probably the most important reason to use such a feature in the first place.
For now only for paying users
Since smart reminders are still in beta, they are only available to Plus, Pro or Team plan subscribers within companies. However, as usual, the feature will become available to all users over time.
Reminders work well on mobile apps, but can be problematic on the web so far. Full support for the Windows operating system should be available in the first quarter of this year, i.e. by the end of March at the latest.
