For months, there was silence around Kosovo – The authorities have now arranged for it not to be

Kosovo’s Interior Minister Xhelal Svecla said that “the time of parallel and criminal governments and institutions is over in Kosovo.” The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs indicated that Serbia considers Kosovo to be its own southern province, thus maintains a complete Serbian institutional system in the country, which is against the Kosovo constitution.

The Kosovo Serb offices were closed, and the employees were sent home.

According to Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic, this step will only continue Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s “shameless illegal torture” against Serbs. He added: Serbia is following the events and doing everything to protect the Kosovo Serb population from Kurti’s attacks. According to the Serbian Prime Minister, Albin Kurti made the attacks against Serbs part of his February 9 parliamentary election campaign.

According to Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric, the actions of the Kosovo authorities threaten the stability of the region, so the international community should not be silent on the matter.

The head of the Kosovo affairs office of the Serbian government is currently in Brussels to discuss the settlement of the relationship between Belgrade and Pristina. However, Petar Petkovic said he will not participate in the planned meeting due to the actions of the Kosovo authorities on Wednesday morning.

In 2008, Kosovo unilaterally declared its independence from Serbia, which Belgrade has refused to recognize ever since, and continues to consider the area, mostly inhabited by Albanians, as its southern province. The dialogue between the two parties aimed at normalizing the relationship began in 2013, but no progress has been made despite the fact that the settlement of the relationship is the key to the European integration of both parties.
