This year the forum will be dedicated to the topic “New materials and chemistry”. Discussions will focus on the development of the new materials industry and the application of its achievements in various industries and economies.
On the official website Future Technologies Forum published the architecture of the business program. The event will take place in Moscow on February 20–21, 2025.
“Ensuring technological independence and the formation of new markets in the field of new materials and chemistry is one of the tasks in achieving technological leadership – one of the national development goals of the Russian Federation until 2030 and for the future until 2036. A corresponding national project has been developed, and all key players are involved in solving the problem: representatives of science, business, and government. The Future Technologies Forum, dedicated to new materials and chemistry, will be a key platform for both discussing the necessary measures to achieve national development goals and demonstrating breakthrough achievements in this area.”said Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the Forum of Future Technologies Anton Kobyakov.
“The national project “New Materials and Chemistry” provides for increasing the pace of industry development, introducing new production facilities and increasing the share of the chemical industry in the country’s GDP. This requires combining the efforts of science, business, the education system and creating appropriate incentives from the state. The Forum of Future Technologies will allow us to discuss the current situation in the industry and the implementation of key activities within the framework of the national project.”noted the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, curator of the national project “New Materials and Chemistry” Denis Manturov.
The Forum program will be divided into four thematic blocks: “Chemistry and high-purity substances”, “Modern materials and technologies”, “New horizons” and “Ecosystem”.
During the expert discussions of the “Chemistry and High-Purity Substances” block, they will discuss the production and import substitution of basic chemical products, as well as the development of high-tech chemistry: the development of new generation materials and their use in microelectronics, catalytic systems, the production of environmentally friendly fertilizers and other high-tech industries. Particular attention will be paid to the creation of chemical production chains that will allow the production of new materials that will ensure the country’s import independence. Discussions will also touch on “green chemistry” – optimization of chemical processes to protect the environment.
The track “Modern materials and technologies” will be devoted to the use of new materials in the development of nature-like technologies, nuclear energy, transport engineering, and biomedicine. Discussions will take place on the use of frost-resistant and durable materials in the development of Arctic territories, the role of new materials in the industrial implementation of additive technologies.
Discussions in the “New Horizons” area will concern the development of the latest materials for advanced industries: high-performance polymers for restorative medicine, nuclear, oil and gas, space industries, nanomaterials for energy, smart materials that can change their properties depending on conditions, quantum and metamaterials with unique properties , not existing in nature. Digital materials science and new methods of materials research using megascience complexes will also be discussed.
The Ecosystem block will cover the topics of regulation and standardization, the use of information technology, infrastructure creation and training of scientific and engineering personnel for the new materials industry.
As part of the business program, there will also be an open dialogue “State – Enterprises”, dedicated to establishing new production chains in the field of new materials and chemistry, and a discussion panel “Scientific achievements inspired by science fiction.”
Participants of the Future Technologies Forum from among Russian high-tech companies will present the latest achievements in the field of chemistry and new materials at the exhibition, which will be on site throughout all days of the event.
On the eve of the Forum, a thematic scientific conference will be held: leading Russian and foreign scientists will discuss promising research in the field of new materials and key trends in this area.
