A laborer named Abu Bakkar Siddique (38) was killed after being crushed by the wheel of a container lorry in North Kattali area of Chittagong city.
On Wednesday (January 15) around 3:30 pm, a tragic accident took place in North Kattali AK Khan area under Pahartali police station of the city. Akhtaruzzaman Sohag, duty officer of Pahartali police station confirmed the truth of the accident.
Deceased Abu Bakkar Siddique is the son of Yunus Mia of the house of Aslam Commissioner of Saraipara area under Pahartali police station. He was engaged as a laborer in the terminal area under the third party contract.
According to police and local sources, worker Abu Bakkar Siddiqui died on the spot after being crushed by the wheel of a container lorry of Ispahani Summit Alliance Terminal Limited in the afternoon.
SI Jasim Uddin of Pahartali Police Station, investigating officer of this incident, said that one worker died after being crushed by the wheel of a lorry. The car was impounded soon after the incident but the driver is absconding. The body has been sent to the hospital for post-mortem. Legal action is being taken in this incident.
