The development of the retro FPS action Fortune’s Run is suspended, the author must go to prison

Dizzie, the sole developer of the game Fortune’s Runhe shared personal informationwhich will affect the further development of the project. It is currently in early access, but it will probably stay that way for the next two, maybe even three years.

The author states in his post that he was sentenced to three years in prison, which is the result of his violent past. This legal process lasted for five years, during which he worked on the game. After the final verdict, he will have to go to prison, which means that the development will be suspended. Although the game is not completely “dead”, development will be halted indefinitely until it is free again.

Dizzie also reports that his other developer has left the project. After recovering from personal issues (failed surgery), she decided not to pursue game development anymore. She was responsible for QA and some parts of the levels. However, he was able to finish them in order to release the game before his departure. He says that this development was very difficult, as he did all the work alone, without sleep or rest.

He apologizes for the development being interrupted, but explains that he had no control over his fate and that the situation was unavoidable. At the same time, he expresses his gratitude to his community on Discord, supporters on Patreon and everyone who helped the project financially. He reports that he was able to come out of the dark moments and get into the work he loves – storytelling, programming, drawing and making music.

Although development will be on hiatus, Dizzie believes that if all goes according to plan, he will be able to complete the game upon his return, as most of the content is almost done. Many of the unfinished levels are just prototypes he made in his spare time.
