Donald Trump’s remarks and plans to return to the US presidency have strengthened the dollar, but this is bad news for Europe, said SEB capital markets broker Eric Laur.
In the morning program “Äripäev Raadio” on Wednesday, Laur said that Donald Trump’s policies, on the one hand, put pressure on commodities, which are mainly imported in dollars, and on the other hand, influence the President of the European Central Bank, Christine Lagarde, who has to think more carefully about the extent to which interest rates can be reduced.
