A councilor of Patia municipality has been charged with illegally connecting electricity to his residence.
Patia PDB conducted a raid on the second floor of the house of Rupak Sen, councilor of Ward No. 2 of Patia Municipality and disconnected the illegal connection. Patia Power Development Board (PDB) conducted this operation today on Saturday afternoon.
Patia PDB sources said, based on secret information, Patia PDB Assistant Engineer Md. Led by Jasim Uddin, a raid was conducted at the house of Councilor Rupak Sen of Ward No. 2 of Sadar.
At this time, it was found that the electricity connection was illegally taken from the side of the electricity meter. The meter and cable are seized by immediate disconnection.
Jasim Uddin, assistant engineer of Patia PDB, said that an investigation committee will be formed in this regard. Legal action will be taken after investigation.
When contacted, Councilor Rupak Sen denied the matter.
