The telecommunications company announced a price adjustment.
Act C of 2003 on electronic communications allows telecommunication service providers to unilaterally amend their subscription contracts and, in this spirit, to raise monthly fees without reason every year, but at most by the inflation rate of the previous year. Taking advantage of this, Vodafone, which had transformed into One in the meantime, announced last month that its services would become more expensive by 3.5 percent starting in May.
And now Magyar Telekom has also decided to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the law and set higher fees than before. In this case, the amount of the inflation-tracking price adjustment, which will come into effect on April 1, 2025, will be the same as the annual consumer price change determined and published by the Central Statistical Office for the year 2024, i.e. 3.7 percent.
The company modifies the monthly fees for the services and fee packages included in the General Terms and Conditions and the subscription contracts, but does not affect the traffic-type fees, they remain unchanged. Residential landline, residential mobile and business mobile subscribers will receive the bill issued based on the already increased rates in May, while customers subscribing to business landline service will receive it a month earlier.
His announcement according to Magyar Telekom’s goal is to provide the best services to its customers, and in order to ensure this, it continuously develops its services and network infrastructure.
