A Russian fighter with the call sign Hitman saved his colleagues by stopping a kamikaze drone of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with his head.
About this in a conversation with RT told deputy commander of a motorized rifle battalion with the call sign Krestik.
The Russian soldier accomplished the feat during the battles for Avdeevka in 2024, when wounded soldiers went down to the basement.
Krestik said that they were tracked down by the Ukrainian Armed Forces using a UAV, and after that the kamikaze drone flew towards the entrance.
“Hitman stood in the aisle and shielded his comrades. The blow hit his head. At the hospital, doctors literally assembled his head; his vision was partially saved,” Krestik shared.
Hitman was evacuated a few days later. All this time, according to the deputy commander, he did not lose heart.
“A unique person. He sat with his head rewound, joked, and encouraged us,” the military man added.
Krestik fighters in Avdeevka completed an important task – they recaptured the street along which the Ukrainian Armed Forces were supplied. At the same time, there were almost three times more fighters on the Ukrainian side.
“They shot him from three sides with grenade launchers. None of them survived. After occupying the street, my guys held the defense for two more days until the main forces arrived,” summed up the deputy commander.
Earlier, RT spoke with a Yakut serviceman who defeated a Ukrainian Armed Forces fighter in a knife fight.
