Enthusiast Thomas Rinsma demonstrated what can be done with a little effort and a PDF reader. Thanks to the interactive elements that the format supports, he was able to program in the PDF file functional Tetris game. The file gave free ke download.
The game has minimal memory requirements and works even in the Edge browser. It is controlled either by means of buttons or keys WASD. If you want to control the game with the keys, you must first click in the text field.
Here’s a working game of Tetris inside a PDF. Even has keyboard controls (by typing WASD in an input box). Plus, upon game-over you can “save” your score by printing the page 😉

The game file worked fine for me on Windows, but I couldn’t get it to work on Android, and I tried several apps. The game surface appears, but the game no longer responds to any user input. The technology used therefore still has limits.
Effort running different games on non-typical devices is nothing new. Andry Binds on the washing machine, Doom on the fridge or PacMan on the ATM. The practical use of these actions is questionable, but it is certain call for the creators of those ports.
Tetris
The game Tetris was programmed by a Soviet programmer Alexey Pazhitnov in 1984. The big boom came in 1989 when Nintendo released it. This was preceded by complex license negotiations, complicated by the Cold War. Tetris is the game ported to the most platforms (more than 65) and has sold more than 170 million copies sold.
The game is very simple, it consists in stacking blocks in the shape of the letters Z, L, O and I, when mirror-turned variants are also possible. While the block is falling down, the player can move it horizontally scroll a rotate. When it hits the bottom or another block, it stops and another block starts falling. If the entire row is full, it is removed and the entire stack is shifted. The goal is for the pile not to reach the top of the playing field.
The longest recorded game it lasted 35 hours and 40 minutes.
