‘Leaked photos show how thin the OnePlus Open 2 is’

The phone on which the OnePlus Open 2 will be based has been leaked in photos. This way we know how thick the phone is. You can see that in this article.

‘The OnePlus Open 2 is that thin’

The expected OnePlus Open 2 is probably based on Oppo’s Find N5. The companies fall under the same parent company and the original OnePlus Open is also based on an Oppo. Photos of the Find N5 were recently leaked, clearly showing how thick it will be. This way we also know what to expect from the thickness of the OnePlus Open 2.

These are three leaked images. Starting with the photo of the Oppo Find N5 being held in a hand. Of course, we don’t know how big the hand is, but at first the OnePlus Open 2 seems a bit thinner than its predecessor.

The casing seems to be closer to the thickness of the Honor Magic V3 (9.2 millimeters) than the first OnePlus Open (11.9 millimeters). It is not known exactly how thick the phone is. There is also a photo in which the smartphone is unfolded and lies next to two coins. It is estimated that the OnePlus and Oppo are about 4.5 millimeters thick when unfolded.

In the last photo we see Oppo Find N5 in a striking case. We see these more often on unreleased smartphones. Companies can then use the telephone in public, without others being able to see which device it is. Four lenses peek through the case.

More OnePlus Open 2 specifications

Most specifications of the new OnePlus folding smartphone are now also known. For example, the Open 2 will probably have an 8-inch screen on the inside with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display on the outside is 6.4 inches. Under the hood is possibly the fastest chip of the moment: the Snapdragon 8 Elite. OnePlus has added up to 16GB of RAM and a maximum of 1 terabyte of storage.

Furthermore, the OnePlus Open 2 has a much larger battery. The battery is said to have a capacity of 5900 mAh, which is a significant improvement over the 4805 mAh battery in last year’s Open.

Charging is reportedly possible at a maximum of 80 watts (instead of 67 watts) and the Open 2 can also charge wirelessly. There are three 50 megapixel cameras on the back.

The OnePlus Open is a nicely equipped folding phone. The screens are bright and have a nice aspect ratio. The device is thin and light, has a large battery and charges quickly. There are a few (smaller) negatives. The speakers sound quite tinny and the cameras are only adequate. We highly recommend this smartphone, but you might be better off waiting until it becomes a little cheaper.
