At the same time, the console manufacturer remained in debt with many details.
The rumor that surfaced a few days ago turned out to be true, Nintendo really set aside today to show the general public the successor to the Switch, which is called the Switch 2 and is visibly larger than the hybrid that has been on the market for eight years. However, the console manufacturer did not reveal the release date or the price, and what’s more, it did not reveal the specifications either.
We will probably get answers to our questions about these on April 2nd, as the company announced a dedicated Nintendo Direct for that day.
However, we have received a short trailer that confirms that the Switch 2, which can be used both docked and carried, will arrive in 2025, and that a brand new Mario Kart is also in the works. It will probably be one of the opening titles. The easy-going racing game seems to be the perfect choice because the latest installment, Mario Kart 8, has been unstoppable from the top of the game sales charts for many years.
It has also been confirmed that the Switch 2 will be backwards compatible with both digital and digital Switch games, and it seems that the leakers who claimed that the manufacturer used a magnet to connect the Joy-Con controllers were also correct. Also with the power of the novelty is a fold-out support that looks better than the solution used in its predecessor, the extra button on the right controller, and a second USB-C input.
From the beginning of April to the beginning of June, Nintendo will be offering fans the opportunity to get their hands on and try out the console in several major cities around the world before its release. Budapest is not among them, but Paris (April 4-6), London (April 11-13), Berlin (April 25-27), Milan (April 25-27), Amsterdam (May 9-11) ) and Madrid (May 9-11) were put on the map.
