Next year’s smartphone panorama will be enriched with a new, intriguing protagonist: the Galaxy S25 Slim. After months of rumors, the first images of what appears to be the fourth member of the Samsung Galaxy S25 family have finally been leaked, a device that, as the name suggests, focuses entirely on thinness. The images, released by the well-known leaker Ice Universeshow the Galaxy S25 Slim alongside the other three models in the series, revealing their design and allowing a first dimensional comparison.
Il Galaxy S25 Slim clearly maintains the aesthetic DNA of the S25 seriescharacterized by clean lines and a photographic module integrated into the body. However, it is its supposed subtlety that captures attention. According to the leaked information, the device will have a thickness of soli 6,4 mmpositioning itself as the thinnest in the range.
At this point, however, the first doubts arise. Although the name “Slim” suggests a significantly slimmer design, comparison with the other models in the S25 series reveals a slightly different reality. The Galaxy S25 standardin fact, should have a thickness of 7,2 mmwhile the Galaxy S25 Plus would attest to 7,3 mm. The difference in thickness between the Slim model and these two devices is therefore just 0.8 mm and 0.9 mm respectively.
The images released by Ice Universe confirm this minimal difference. The Galaxy S25 Slim appears thinner than the Galaxy S25 Ultrawhich should reach a thickness of 8,2 mmbut the difference with the S25 and S25 Plus models is almost imperceptible. This raises questions about the real usefulness of a “Slim” variant which, in fact, offers such a reduced thickness advantage.
A direct comparison can be made with Apple and rumors regarding an alleged iPhone 17 Air (or perhaps “Slim”, according to other rumors). According to rumors, the Cupertino device should reach a thickness of suns 5,5 mmben 0,9 mm in meno compared to the Galaxy S25 Slim. A difference which, in terms of perception and handling, could be much more significant.
In addition to the dimensional comparison, Ice Universe also created a concept image showing all Galaxy S25 models from the front. From this image the dimensional hierarchy of the series emerges: the Galaxy S25 it will be the most compact with a display of 6.2 inchesfollowed by Galaxy S25 Plus e S25 Slimboth with a display of 6.7 inchesand finally from Galaxy S25 Ultrathe flagship of the series, with a large screen from 6.9 inches.
At the moment, information on the Galaxy S25 Slim is still fragmentary. Samsung is likely aiming to position this device as one lighter and more manageable version of the Galaxy S25 Plusoffering the same display size but with less weight and greater grip.
However, Samsung’s strategy with this “Slim” model is not yet entirely clear. The minimum difference in thickness compared to other models in the S25 series may not be enough to justify its existence. Perhaps the Korean giant has other distinctive features in store for this model, such as a battery of different capacity or a specific hardware configuration.
It is possible that the Galaxy S25 Slim is a “premium” product that wants to focus on different materials compared to the other models in the range. An example would be titanium, which it would help reduce weight and at the same time it would better justify the name “Slim”.
Il leaker Steve H.McFly he published an image that provides an even better approximation of the differences between the Galaxy S25 family phones.
The launch timing also remains to be understood. According to rumors, the Galaxy S25 Slim could hit the market about three months after the other three series models, a delay similar to the Galaxy serie FE. An unusual strategy, which could be motivated by production difficulties or the desire to test market reception.
It will be interesting to follow developments and find out whether Samsung will manage to make the Galaxy S25 Slim a truly attractive device, or whether its thinness will be too marginal an advantage to compete in an increasingly crowded market.
