Futuristic technology in the hands of Ukrainian special forces

Ukrainian soldiers gained new ones third generation ENVG-B night vision devices from the Israeli arms company Elbit. This is equipment for the 21st century. It is enough to see their capabilities in the film to admit that this is a real revolution. The ENVG-B night vision device provides a completely new level of field operations at night, which is crucial, for example, in the war in Ukraine.

As we can learn from the official information disclosed by the originators of this extraordinary invention, the system allows soldiers to obtain much wider field of view compared to a traditional monocular night vision device. Elbit boasts that it is so precise that you can get the impression that the action in the published film takes place during the day. This is called technological progress.

The Ukrainian army does not hide that ENVG-B is not the only one makes it easier to conduct military operations at nightbut also in difficult weather conditions, namely fog, sandstorm or smoke. Russian soldiers complain a lot about the incredible opportunities that this equipment gives the Ukrainians. Interestingly, the system can be connected to rifles, thanks to which the soldier can orientate himself in the field faster, target targets and eliminate selected targets more precisely.

It cannot be omitted to mention here that it is thanks to night vision goggles delivered directly from the USA that Ukrainian soldiers can successfully conduct operations in, for example, unlit and extensive bunkers or shelters. Many films from the front show that our neighbor’s army succeeded during the darkness eliminate many Russian soldiersand also make precise attacks on their wild camps.

ENVG-B goggles will detect any Russian soldier

“In terms of target identification and visual clarity, the difference between the ENVG-B and the older PVS-14 is like the difference between day and night,” said Capt. Will Hess, C3 detachment commander. squadron of the 89th cavalry regiment of the 10th mountain division. During the exercises, it turned out that soldiers equipped with ENVG-B night vision goggles were able to hit targets at a distance of 300 meters, while soldiers with the previous generation PVS-14 systems had problems with targets at a distance of 150 meters.

Officially available information shows that ENVG-B goggles weigh approximately 2 kilograms. It is true that they are lighter than previous devices, but still heavier than binoculars because they are equipped with a battery system. It allows them to work without interruption for up to 8 hours. This is a very good result. The goggles attach directly to the front of the helmet. Combat tests have shown that the devices do not restrict soldiers’ movements, and working in them for many hours does not cause any discomfort.

The Pentagon reported that the next generation will be IVAS goggles. They are intended to allow for a 180-degree field of view, as well as support with augmented reality technologies. Soldiers will be able to wear goggles without interruption and at the same time see in them the target being tracked by the weapon, as well as the view stretching before the eyes of their colleagues or images obtained from drones and robots.
