Dacia ended last year with record sales, consolidating its position on the European new car market. What were the most popular models?
Dacia sold 676,340 vehicles in 2024, registering an increase of 2.7% compared to 2023. The year 2024 marks an important milestone in the history of the Dacia brand, which has surpassed the symbolic threshold of 9 million vehicles sold since 2004. Dacia exceeds market performance , growing by 1.6% in 2024 compared to 2023.
By 2024, Dacia has reached a share of 8.2% of sales to private customers (8.3% in 2023), consolidating its place on the European podium for the fourth consecutive year. These results were driven by strong performances in a number of European countries, which recorded an all-time record for the market share of cars bought by individuals: 4.2% in Austria, 5.2% in Belgium- Luxembourg, 2.5% in Germany, 6.2% in Italy and 7.7% in Portugal.
Other countries recorded very strong increases in volumes, even over 10%: +13.2% in Austria, +15.4% in Belgium-Luxembourg, +20.2% in the Czech Republic, +13.1% in Italy , +16.3% in Morocco, +11.9% in Poland, +10.7% in Portugal and +12.4% in Spain.
Dacia Sandero is the European champion of new car sales
Sandero, with 309,392 units sold in 2024 (up 14.5% from 2023), is the best-selling vehicle in Europe and the best-selling vehicle on the European retail market since 2017. Sandero is the first Dacia vehicle to it sold more than 300,000 units in a single year.
Duster has retained its position as the best-selling SUV for retail customers in Europe since 2018. Duster is also the 2nd best-selling model for retail customers in Europe. With 215,024 units sold in 2024 (up 7.3% from 2023) across all countries, Duster has crossed 2.5 million units since its 2010 debut.
Sales of Spring electrics decreased significantly in 2024 (-63% compared to 2023), the main reason being the reduction or complete elimination of government subsidies. However, the arrival of the new version in showrooms in September led to an increase in orders in the last three months of 2024.
