After it was revealed that the 13-year-old girl was supposed to participate in an emergency operation at the Graz University Hospital, the Styrian Criminal Bureau started an investigation. A final report is now available, in which the surgical team claims they saw nothing suspicious.

The Styrian State Criminal Police submitted to the State Prosecutor’s Office the final report on the case at Graz University Hospital (LKH Graz), when a neurosurgeon at Graz University Hospital allegedly allowed her underage daughter to drill a hole in the skull of a severely injured 33-year-old during an operation.

In January of this year, a 33-year-old man from Styria had an accident during forestry work in the district of Weiz. He was transported by helicopter to the LKH University Hospital and underwent emergency head surgery. At the beginning of June, it finally became public that the Graz neurosurgeon allowed her 13-year-old daughter to participate in the operation at LKH. The Styrian only found out a month later, from the police, that it was he who was attacked by a 13-year-old girl on the operating table.

According to the victim’s lawyer, Petra Freibergerjathe teenage girl is said not only to be present, but to actively participate in the operation. “There is evidence that those involved admitted within the hospital that the 13-year-old drilled a hole in the patient’s skull,” Freiberger said in an interview with “Krona” last month.

Now, according to the newspaper, the final report of the Styrian State Criminal Police is available, which states that the prosecutor’s office is investigating a total of seven people, namely three doctors and four surgeons, on suspicion of serious bodily injury due to an improperly performed operation. The main accused is the mother of the 13-year-old girl, who denies the charges.

The accusations are also denied by everyone present in the operating theater at the time. Hansjörg Bacher, the spokesperson of the State Prosecutor’s Office in Graz said after the publication of the report that “right now, none of the accused are completely guilty. Some said they didn’t see the minor lay hands on him.”

The public prosecutor must now verify the credibility of the statements. All accused are presumed innocent.
