The 2024 season in the National Drift Championship ended on the Transilvania Motor Ring circuit in Mureș. The final stage was dedicated to street class pilots, but also to children, who came from all over the country to compete.

Now in its third season, the street class of the National Drift Championship is dedicated exclusively to beginners. This year, a division dedicated to children between the ages of 9 and 16 was also established, called RoDrift Kids.

The final stage in Mureș was won by Adrian Mirea from Bucharest, followed on the podium by Mihai Zăvoian and Radu Darius.

Street class winner: a 13-year-old rookie

Even in his first drift season, Adrian Mirea became the new street class champion. And from next year he will have a license to compete in the big championship, in the Semi Pro class.

For the first time, 13-year-old Alexei Manea won the kids class. He was followed in the ranking of the stage by Albert Ciotu, 12 years old, and Robert Iancu, aged 15 years.

However, at the first edition of the RoDrift Kids national championship, Robert Iancu was the one who lifted the trophy above his head, and Albert Ciotu also took 2nd place.

The big surprise in the final standings is Alexis Stan, who at only 9 years old finished on the podium.

On the Transilvania Motor Ring circuit, there were RoDrift Academy instructors, pilots with experience in this field, multiple national champions. They gave the youngsters tips and practical applications to develop their skills in controlled skidding.

Season finale in the National Drift Championship

What happened this year is a real success for us. I am convinced that some of those who now competed on the street, in the coming years will make a sensation on the circuit in the Pro division. We are raising a new generation of pilots who are responsible and who set an example to others through their behavior“, said Andrei Balica, president of RoDrift.

The Street Class of the National Drift Championship first appeared in 2022. The goal was to educate the public and attract traffic freaks in a safe setting.

With the motto “Champions are on the circuit, not on the streets”, during the stages of the championship, several awareness campaigns of traffic dangers were implemented together with the authorities and the Traffic Police.
