A huge tragedy mourned the whole of Buzău. A young soccer player, only 15 years old, and her father drowned, and the doctors could do nothing to save them.
The athlete, who was registered at the “Shoimii” football club, was a real talent and had already come to the attention of the Romanian Football Federation, most likely going to be called up to the national teams.

A 15-year-old soccer player and her father drowned on Sunday. Larisa, who was registered at the “Soimii” club, was considered a real talent, and her coach, Mihai Budescu, predicted a bright future for her. The teenager had already come to the attention of the Romanian Football Federation, which wanted her to be among the players of the U16 national team of Romania.
On Sunday, when the temperatures recorded in the thermometers were extremely high, Larisa and one of her brothers went swimming with their father in the waters of Buzău. The man chose a place downstream from the Mărăcineni bridge, in an area where excavations were carried out, writes the local press. The two minors did not know how to swim, and the water slowly pulled them towards a pit. When he saw that Larisa and her brother were in danger, the 36-year-old man tried to save them and managed to bring the boy to shore. When he returned for Larisa, he was swept away by the swirling waters and could no longer surface.
The two could no longer be saved
Several rescue crews arrived at the scene, who immediately began search operations. After more than an hour of being under water, the bodies of the two were taken ashore by the firefighters. Then SMURD rescuers intervened and began resuscitation maneuvers, which were completed unsuccessfully. In the end, the doctors could only declare death Larisa and her 36-year-old father.
Larisa’s family had a total of seven children, and the news of the death of the two mourned Buzăul. The representatives of the “Soimii” football club, where the young athlete played, sent a message full of pain when they learned the terrible news.
“The officials of the Şoimii Buzău football club also received the news with pain in their hearts: Condolences! Larisa, we will never forget you! We love you!”, the club’s representatives wrote on social networks.
