Anđela came from the town of Stará Pazova in Vojvodina. The site Lowland Slovaks abroad reported about it on the social network. According to media reports, the girl also died at the station with her boyfriend Miloš.

In a speech to the nation, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić confirmed that the accident claimed 14 lives, including a six-year-old girl and a citizen of North Macedonia. According to the president’s critics, corruption and careless renovation by his government are to blame for the disaster.

Security camera footage showed people walking in and out of the station building and sitting on benches on a sunny day when the concrete structure suddenly collapsed on top of them. The building has already been renovated twice over the years. However, according to Serbian Railways, the last renovation did not concern the structure above the entrance to the building.
