Three colorstwo souls, one studio apartment of alone 30 mq total with a green terrace overlooking the world. A house as stratified as the place that hosts it. We are in fact in the beating heart of Genoa: a city that is a port, which is history, which is life because we know the sea gives that feeling there.

It is in this urban context that I study it Circle-A cure the renovation of a small apartment destined to be both home and office. «When we finished designing this space we realized that it had turned into a real chameleoncapable of taking on two distinct identities” says Simone Ierardi of Circolo-A who with Irene Botta created a unique space. From a functional and constructive point of view, “the renovation made the most of the original features of the apartment, such as the ceilings and large windows that flood the spaces with natural light.”

Being a micro place there were few interventions to be made on the plan, but rather there was a world of colors and sensations to explore. The designers were driven by the desire to create a hybrid placewhich could be adapted according to needs and so there are only two fixed points inside the house: the bathroom, which transforms into a pink box covered with a signature geometric play of alternations Mosaic Factoryand the kitchen which is instead enveloped in a deep tone of blue.

«The open space is a triumph of colors: the intense blue of the walls and ceiling of the kitchen contrasts with the pure white of the worktop and the warmth of the base units” said the architects who wanted to create “a dynamic and welcoming environment, perfect for cooking and socialising”. Upon entering, you breathe avibrant atmospherenot inclined to monotony, but rather protracted towards play. A play of materials that meet, such as stained wood blu and metal mint greena game of appearances and belongings, like the writing table which also becomes a dining table, or like the sofa De Bernardis which becomes a refuge for the night, and again a game of historical eras compared, like the old sign Mivar and the neon of Ninewatts which bears the words “Do what you love”.
