A 77-year-old male cyclist died in a traffic accident in Thisted on Thursday morning.
This is according to the chief of duty at the Central and West Jutland Police, Andreas Andersen.
The accident happened in a roundabout at Østerbakken in Thisted, where the cyclist and a van collided.
The police were alerted to the accident via 112 at 10.54am. Attempts were made to revive the cyclist on the spot, but it was in vain, and a doctor pronounced the man dead on the spot.
– To clarify the specific circumstances, we have received help from a car inspector, says Andreas Andersen.
He cannot yet say anything more about how the accident happened. More investigations are needed and witnesses must be interviewed.
The police have completed investigations at the scene.
The 77-year-old man’s relatives have been notified.
