Road accident near Latina. Shortly before 9am today, Saturday 16 November, a 90-year-old man lost his life after his car collided with a truck belonging to ABC, the Municipal Goods Company of Latina which manages the urban hygiene service and separate waste collection.

According to what we learn, the 90-year-old was in his car and was traveling towards Borgo San Michele on Monti Lepini when, for reasons yet to be ascertained, his car went off the road and hit the rear left corner of a truck of the ABC of Latina. At that moment the vehicle, according to what has been reconstructed, was stationary and therefore has no responsibility for the accident.

Following the impact with the compactor, the car driven by the elderly man spun, ending up with the rear wheels off the road on the other side of the road. The 118 rescuers intervened on site, but they were unable to do anything to save the life of the 90-year-old. An ambulance and a medical vehicle are on site, as well as the firefighters of the provincial command of Latina and the men of the local police, who are working to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident down to the smallest details.

Waste truck falls in the courtyard of a building and breaks through the wall: serious driver and homeowner

The most probable hypothesis, at the moment, is that of a sudden distraction or an illness that caught the elderly driver of the car by surprise. No other cars appear to have been involved in the accident.
