Border guards prevented a trailer-caravan (camper) stolen in Norway from entering Belarus. On Tuesday morning, officers of the VSAT Padvarioniai border checkpoint checked the minibus “VW Multivan”, towing a camper, and its driver’s documents at the Medininkai border checkpoint.

While checking the documents of the trailer-caravan, the border guards discovered that the search for it as stolen was announced by the Norwegian police in October 2019.
The driver who transported the mobile home explained that a friend had asked him to transport the camper from Vilnius to Belarus. The man said he knew nothing about the search for the vehicle.
After questioning the witness, the VSAT officers released the foreigner, and the trailer he was transporting was detained and temporarily stored at the Vilnius border station.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched at the VSAT Vilnius border police station regarding the acquisition or sale of criminally obtained property, which is led by the prosecutor of the 1st department of the Vilnius district prosecutor’s office. For this criminal act, the law provides for a fine, restriction of liberty, arrest or deprivation of liberty for up to four years.
