The life of Shannon Ralston, businesswoman, philanthropist, animal conservationist and mother of 12, can be described as anything but peaceful. From his home in Texas (USA), he combines the management of Angel Staffing, one of the country’s leading healthcare personnel provider firms, with a busy family life.
But even a woman with so many skills needs an occasional ‘energy boost’, and this is where it starts. his peculiar story with his Bugatti and the spill of an energy drink inside his exclusive Chiron: a personalized supercar valued at around three million euros, with which he travels almost daily to work.
A coaster for your Bugatti Chiron: Shannon Ralston’s “Christmas wish”
The Bugatti Chiron is a masterpiece of engineering with brutal performance: it is capable of reach speeds of up to 380 km/h, accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds and reach 200 km/h in 6.5 seconds. But it lacks something as mundane as a cup holder. This absence, irrelevant to many, became a real problem when Ralston spilled an entire drink into the gap in the driver’s door of the car.
Sharing her sticky experience on social media, Shannon not only admitted “her mistake,” but called on Bugatti and the Chiron design team, led by Frank Heyl, to find a solution:
“Yes, I know I shouldn’t drink anything while driving the fastest car in the world, but I need a holder for a water bottle. I live in Texas, it’s hot!” He even described it as his “Christmas wish”, appealing to the good will of those responsible for Bugatti.
Heyl responded quickly and creatively. In less than a week, the development team designed a cup holder especially for Shannon’s Chiron, which he described as follows: “Just in time for Christmas, the design is ready. If you approve, we could create a 3D prototype to test in your car in January.”
The solution consisted of a simple clip with two slots that inserts into the door’s storage space of the driver, exactly where the spill occurred. This custom accessory can hold water bottles and slim cans like those for energy drinks. Plus, it’s engraved with Shannon’s name in hot pink, matching the interior details of her Chiron.
Ralston could not be more grateful for Bugatti’s attention and speed. This gesture shows that even a brand dedicated to the perfection of automotive performance is willing to listen to its customers and adapt to their needs, no matter how peculiar they may be.
“When an owner of several Bugatti like @sweet4shannon Expect a special Christmas gift under your tree this year, we are pleased to deliver,” Heyl posted. Now, thanks to this innovation, Chiron owners could enjoy a drink without worrying about accidents: surely more than one will claim theirs.
The story of Shannon and her personalized coaster is a perfect example of how even small gestures can make a big difference. On these special dates, Bugatti demonstrated empathy, excellent customer service and speed in fulfilling a Christmas wish.
Christmas miracles are not always great impossible feats: They can also be simple and meaningful solutions that brighten someone’s life.
