A 37-year-old chef employed at a popular restaurant in Ibiza has been charged with assault after attacking a 72-year-old German customer. The incident occurred after the customer complained that the food served was in a bad condition and did not match his order.

According to the police statement, the chef reacted aggressively, running towards the customer’s table and shouting. It is alleged that following the altercation, the customer was hit in the back and neck area and the chef smashed a plate on the floor while continuing to insult him.

The cook was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm

The client was initially diagnosed with minor bruising at a medical center, but a few days after the incident he had to undergo surgery due to two blood clots in his chest that were affecting his breathing.

The chef was arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm following the incident last month, but police have not released the names of those involved.
