The court in St. Gallen, Switzerland, today sentenced a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina to 42 months in prison and punished him with expulsion from the country for 10 years for the horrific attack on his girlfriend, who was still a minor at the time.
According to the Swiss media, this 30-year-old was born in St. Galen, but has the citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
At today’s, also the last hearing, the attacked girl testified and said that her ex-boyfriend had frequent outbursts of anger and jealousy. She is no longer in contact with him. And everything happened in the spring of 2022 when she reported him for an aggressive attack under the influence of alcohol.
Allegedly, he wanted to check her phone, and he allegedly suspected that her work colleague also liked her, which only deepened the feeling of jealousy, which led to an aggressive outburst.
The attack took place in an underground garage when he first hit her in the head and then punched her in the stomach. Due to the force of the blow, she fell down and was unconscious for some time. However, he did not stop there, but kicked her several times in the head and stomach. He allegedly insulted her all the while hitting her.
The result is bleeding from the left ear, bleeding from the eyelids, a broken cheekbone, as well as a dislocated jaw.
Although the prosecution asked for 30 months in prison, the judge said that he sentenced her to 42 months precisely because of the kicks while she was already on the ground.
By the way, his residence permit has already been revoked due to previous criminal offenses and convictions, and his expulsion from the country was explained by the fact that he had already violated probation on several occasions.
