A company with 65 workers collapsed in Lopara

LOPARE – The owners of the company “Termoelektro oprema” from Lopar lost interest in doing business in this local community, which is why they filed for bankruptcy of the company, the portal learns. CAPITAL.

They submitted a request to the District Commercial Court in Bijeljina, which initiated preliminary proceedings and appointed Nebojša Matić from Bijeljina as a temporary bankruptcy administrator.

He was given 30 days to determine whether there are grounds for opening bankruptcy, and a hearing was scheduled for December 25 to discuss the matter.

The court states that the proposal for bankruptcy was submitted by director Slađana Zgonjanin at the end of October this year.

In the proposal, it is stated that the debtor is insolvent, that he cannot carry out his activity, that he does not settle his obligations on time, and the founders of the debtor no longer want to invest in a company that has been making losses for the past several years“, it is written in the court’s decision.

It adds that the giro accounts of the company have been blocked since September 22 of this year, and that there are due and unpaid obligations, which is a sufficient reason for the opening of the previous bankruptcy procedure.

This company has been operating in Lopara since 2017, and in the best period employed about a hundred workers in this extremely underdeveloped municipality.

Many cited it as an example of a successful company from the metal sector, and it was often visited by ministers in the Government of Republika Srpska.

Thus, in 2019, they agreed on business cooperation with the German company “Veber Group”, and in the same year they opened a new plant and, together with Prime Minister Radovan Višković, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new production hall.

Last year they had a record turnover of over four million marks and a profit of 14,753 KM, achieved with 65 employees.

We were unable to get in touch with the owner of the company, Ilija Stjepanović, and our attempts to get someone from the municipality of Lopare to get more information about this case were also unsuccessful.
