LG unveils a connected indoor planter at CES 2025. It allows you to grow small plants by watering and lighting them automatically.
LG is not the first manufacturer of connected planters, but it still believes in this type of product. The brand presents at CES in Las Vegas a “ indoor gardening device » connected and this is not her first attempt.
Growing plants at home without doing anything »
This planter comes in the form of a small floor lamp that you put in your living room. At the very top, lampshade-style LED lights which can light up differently throughout the day. In the middle, a small container to place your plants. At the bottom, a water tank to irrigate said plants. There is also another model, lower in height.
LG promises that we can grow “ a wider range of plants, including larger ones », as the brand writes in his press release. You can grow flowers, aromatic herbs, salads or fruits for example, to create your own little connected vegetable garden.
How this LG connected planter works
To optimize cultivation, the LEDs are height adjustable and have two lighting modes. One directs the light downward to “ promote plant growth during the day » according to five intensity levels. The other is more there for the atmosphere in the evening, with the light directed upwards.
As for water, at the base of the planter there is a 5.6 liter tank which can automatically water the plants. All with the right dose: neither too much so as not to drown them, nor not enough so as not to dry them out. Especially since “ With a capacity for twenty plants and four seed kits, this device automatically adjusts the amount of water and nutrients based on specific plant needs. » To manage all of this, there is the LG ThinQ application.
For the moment, no release date and no price have been announced by the brand. LG is expected to give them away at CES next week.
We remember that at CES 2022, LG presented Tiiuna small indoor vegetable garden, also connected. Sold only in South Korea, it was available for around $1,250. Without additional promotion by LG of its planter, it is possible that it will only be released in South Korea at such a high price.
