The National Police have arrested a dozen people in Seville within the framework of Operation Aertase, related to the taxi union that operates at the city’s airport. Those arrested are being investigated for alleged crimes of belonging to a criminal organization, damages, coercion and threats.
According to police sources, units from the Provincial Citizen Security Brigade and the IV unit of the UIP participate in the operation, and the operation is the result of investigations carried out by the Provincial Information Brigade of Seville.
At the moment there are a dozen arrested and the operation is being carried out in several municipalities in the province of Seville, so more arrests cannot be ruled out within the framework of actions that have been declared secret, as reported by the Government subdelegate. in the province, Francisco Toscano.
The association was taken to court in 2018 for attacks on VTC drivers
A case led by the Investigative Court number 8 of Seville was filed against this same association in 2018, which investigated the alleged attacks and threats suffered by drivers of arranged transportation vehicles (VTC) at the hands of taxi drivers, in addition to alleged coercion to hoard the airport taxi rank.
Then the Hispalense Solidaridad del Taxi Association was charged, as a legal entity, for, as in the operation carried out this Thursday, alleged crimes of criminal organization, damages and coercion, after it was decided to investigate both the association itself as a legal entity and to the members of its board.
