A driver from Lithuania was caught in the grip of the flood that was raging in Spain: he almost drowned with the whole truck

“I stood there in the van. There was almost waist-deep water in the cab of the tractor,” – about the unusual situation at his usual workplace 15min Amber spoke in a relatively calm tone, without over-dramatizing the incident.

Suddenly the streets began to flood. In an hour and a half, the water level rose by two meters.

After unloading the goods at the logistics base on the outskirts of Valencia, in the industrial district, the Lithuanian man was waiting for an opportunity to load new loads into his semi-trailer: the man was ready for a new transport. Plans were disrupted by a natural disaster.

“I have no idea how that flood happened. It just rained hard for a long time. In the evening, when it started to get dark, the streets suddenly began to flood. In an hour and a half, the water level rose by two meters. It’s good that the street I was standing on was slightly uphill, and that’s how much the water rose for me,” said the Lithuanian, who found himself in the grip of the elements.

After a while the tide receded, so at least the water ran out of the cabin. However, the truck was damaged by water.

“I contacted people who take buses from Lithuania to Spain. On Monday morning, they should take me as well,” he said, rejoicing about the evacuation plan from the flood zone 15min interlocutor

The driver planned to spend the night before his trip to Lithuania in a small room next to the service station, where his truck will be temporarily towed.

It is said that it is not possible to repair the truck in Spain, so it is promised to organize its towing to Lithuania.
