WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will make media sharing easier. Brings the camera shortcut back to Android beta. It will again be next to the text field. The update will bring all the necessary shortcuts to make multimedia sharing faster. Next to the camera, you’ll also find a shortcut to attachments and gallery.

WhatsApp belongs to one of the most used applications for sending text and multimedia messages. Therefore, the app brings constant improvements to users. However, it is testing them in a beta program before they go live. The beta program seems to have contributed to the return of the popular feature. A feature was discovered in Android beta 2.24.24.16 that will return a shortcut to the camera next to the text field.
Sharing multimedia via WhatsApp is not exactly the most convenient. If you wanted to access the phone’s photo gallery, you had to make several clicks. WhatsApp solved this by adding a shortcut to the gallery next to the text field. But it was at the expense of the shortcut for the camera.

The favorite shortcut is back
As reported by the portal WABetaInfothe latest Android beta brings back the camera shortcut. It will be next to the text field along with a shortcut to the gallery and attachments. Now the text field looks a bit crowded and we’ll see how WhatsApp solves this fact.
Anyway, the user has quick access to all shortcuts related to sending multimedia. However, such an arrangement may not suit everyone. Shortcuts are placed too close to each other and it disrupts the clarity and minimalism of the application. Since this is a beta version, it is possible that in this form WhatsApp will not go live.
Feature availability
According to WABetaInfo, the feature will be expanded in the coming weeks, but for now only for beta testers. During that time, Meta can continue to experiment with the application and eventually bring it in a completely different form. In the end, the crowded space next to the text field may be deprived of some shortcuts, and users will have to choose a different procedure for adding attachments.
