A film that combines action, humor and holiday magic is coming to cinemas
From November 7, domestic cinemas will be flooded with an adrenaline-filled holiday adventure – “Red”, a movie that combines the spirit of Christmas with exciting action and hilarious fun! At the head of the impressive cast is Dwayne Johnson, who plays the Chief of Security of the North Pole, while the direction is signed by Jake Kasdan, known for the hits from the “Jumanji” series.
When Santa Claus, known by the code name Red, is kidnapped a few days before Christmas Eve, the North Pole faces complete chaos. It’s up to Johnson’s character to save Christmas, but he’s not alone in this mission – he’s joined by the world’s most famous bounty hunter, played by Chris Evans. The two, although completely different, embark on a mission that takes them around the world in a race against time, with the task of finding Santa Claus and saving their favorite holiday.
“Red” gathers a phenomenal cast, Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, Lucy Lu, Kiernan Shipka and Oscar winner JK Simmons, which makes this film a real global spectacle. The film is full of adrenaline, funny moments and holiday spirit – from the chase through the cities in Christmas splendor to the fight scenes in the toy factory. Expect a ride full of action, laughter and unexpected twists, because Christmas has never been this exciting!
Johnson, who began his career with World Wrestling Entertainment, is best known for action films such as “Black Adam” and the “Fast & Furious” franchise. However, he always loved Christmas classics and the feelings they evoke.
“Classics like ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ and ‘It’s a Wonderful Life,’ as well as contemporary favorites like ‘Elves’ and ‘Evil Santa’ — we all love them for the same reason,” Johnson explained. “They bring us back to that warm feeling of togetherness with friends and family, at that time of year when life slows down for a moment. And there’s nothing better than watching a great Christmas movie with the people you love.”
Director Kasdan says that he and Johnson have a special way of communicating, mutual trust and a common sense of humor in their projects. “I believe that he is a unique film personality. If the role is right for him, then he’s capable of doing things that really no one else can and you can’t imagine anyone else in that role. Bravestone’s character in the Jumanji movies was like that, and in a completely different way, Kal, his character in the movie “Red”, is also like that.”
Evans, known for his role as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, relished the idea of playing an anti-Christmas grump who changes his attitudes.
“Jack is going through difficulties in his private life, he has a son he is neglecting, and in addition to family problems, he has lost his Christmas spirit. He works alone and moves through life alone. And that loneliness made him a bit petrified.” – said Evans about the role he plays.
Screenwriter Chris Morgan says audiences will love Johnson and Evans as complete opposites who eventually become friends. “They’re the classic mismatched couple,” Morgan said. “Chris was always the one we envisioned for the character of Jack. He’s witty and edgy, especially good at playing characters who are supposed to be repulsive but endearing to them anyway. When we first brought Dwayne and Chris together, that energy match was instant. They started playing together, teasing, outsmarting and generally having fun at each other’s expense. We knew we had a special dynamic.”
Evans added that the on-screen chemistry he shares with Johnson was easy to create. “He’s an incredibly dedicated actor, very funny and charismatic,” Evans said. “He understands what it takes to carry a film like this and he fits the character of Cal perfectly, because he is full of love and warmth. When Cal loses that feeling, the audience really wants him to find that light again.”
Only on the big screen from November 7. the magic of the holidays is coming in the exciting film “Red” from the studio Warner Bros distribution of BLITZ film.
