Atakent Neighborhood Headman Özge Erdoğan Yeşilırmak said in a statement to journalists that they lost both a neighborhood resident and a health worker who had been working at the health center for a long time in yesterday’s accident.
Yeşilırmak said, “We think that such an accident occurring on such a wide street, on such a comfortable road, is a situation that should be emphasized and investigated.”
After the ceremony, Şengül Ayyıldız’s body was taken to her hometown, Reşadiye district of Tokat, to be buried.

19-year-old driver ES, who was speeding with his car on Atatürk Street in Atakent District last night, lost control and went onto the pavement and hit 55-year-old Şengül Ayyıldız, who works as a nurse at Küçükçekmece Atakent 3rd Stage Family Health Center.
While Ayyıldız, who was seriously injured in the accident, died in the hospital where he was taken, the driver who was taken into custody was sent to the courthouse.
