A gang of criminals who profited from migrants was caught in St. Petersburg

The criminals paid illegal immigrants to register.

In St. Petersburg, a gang of criminals who started a business on migrants was uncovered. They fictitiously registered visitors for money, reports the press service of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city.

The defendants registered 21 foreign citizens in hostels in the city. For a monetary reward, they prepared the necessary documents for foreigners, with which they went to the Department of Foreign Affairs departments for registration. A criminal case has been opened. At least three people walk along it. There is also a check and search for accomplices from among the employees of the migration department.

As part of the investigation of the case, searches were carried out at the places of residence of members of the criminal group, in hostels, as well as in departments of the Department of Internal Affairs.

The issue of bringing charges against the detainees is being decided.

It was previously reported that there will be more migrant workers in St. Petersburg due to a shortage of personnel.
