On November 5, the leadership of the Daugavpils City Duma officially awarded cash prizes to the speedway driver Andrzej Lebedev and his coach Nikolay Kokin for an outstanding achievement – 1st place at the European Championship, as reported on the self-government portal.
The European Speedway Individual Championships took place on September 21 in Czorzow, Poland, where the fourth and final round took place. In the overall standings, after four stages, Andrzej Lebedev took first place, ahead of 24 participants from 9 countries. This tournament is one of the most prestigious motorsports competitions in the calendar, and victory in it confirms the high professional level and sportsmanship.
For this significant achievement, Andrzej Lebedev received a cash bonus of 3,320 euros from the local government, and his coach Nikolai Kokin received 1,660 euros. Prizes are awarded in accordance with the regulations of the Daugavpils City Duma, which provide financial support for outstanding sporting achievements.
