A Linux to forget about Windows? Try Zorin OS

There is life beyond Windows, at least for a large number of users, and Linux is an excellent alternative, if not almost the only one: there is Mac, ChromeOS… and very little else. For its part, Linux is Free, open source, complete and very accessible. Forget about weird stories, because it’s 2024. And if you don’t believe it, try Zorin OS.

It is not the only one in its category, but it is one of the most outstanding options in the same category. Like other better-known ones such as Ubuntu or Linux Mint, Zorin OS is one of those Linux distributions focused on the PC desktop and, above all, on offering the simplest possible experience for the new user, especially for those coming from Windows.

And what better time to try out the honey of Zorin OS than now, taking advantage of the fact that a new version of the system has just been released. A couple of days ago we reported on the launch in MuyLinux And, as usual, we were collecting the new features it brings… But if you are not very familiar with the subject, the truth is that you don’t care what it brings.

The important thing is that one new Zorin OS installation image It’s fresh out of the oven, and it takes five minutes to download and transfer to a USB, and another five to install. And if it takes you longer, it’s because you’ve never done it before; but even in that case, it’s going to be a simple process, within the reach of anyone with a minimum of knowledge (the same as you would need to download and install Windows).

Of course, before you embark on something like this for the first time you have to take some precautions, the same ones you would take if you were going to reinstall Windows, such as backing up your data, but it’s all about getting started. In fact, If you are interested in trying Linux, you can do so without risk of “breaking” anything relying on virtualization, for example. See how easy it is:

You open the second one with the first one and follow the brief on-screen instructions. If it helps, here is a VirtualBox tutorial (dedicated to installing Windows 11, but the “loading the ISO” part is the same). You will be surprised at how simple and functional today’s Linux is.
