A loan of 213 million euros for the construction of a tunnel at the Faculty of Economics

In order to realize the project of building a new tunnel in Belgrade, which will connect Karađorđeva Street and the Danube slope, the Government of Serbia has approved borrowing in the amount of 213 million euros. This infrastructure project will be financed through a long-term loan from Bank Poštanska štedionica.

As stated by the eKapija portal, the loan repayment term is ten yearsand with a waiting period of four years. The interest rate will be variable, relying on the three-month BELIBOR with the addition of a fixed margin of 2.5%, and repayment will be made quarterly in equal installments.

In addition to the construction of the tunnel, the project includes access roads, park areas and supporting infrastructure. The entrance portal of the tunnel will be located at the Faculty of Economics, while the exit will be on Bulevar despota Stefana, near the police station.

The implementation of the works has been entrusted to the Chinese company Power Construction Corporation of China Ltd, which will be responsible for the entire process, including design, construction and final works on this important infrastructure project, reminds eKapija.

Aleksandar Šapić, the mayor of Belgrade, previously stated that the construction of one tunnel tube, as well as the new bridge on the Sava, will continue three years.
