From MSI we saw e.g. laptop and desktop computers, new components and the previously introduced QD-OLED gaming monitors and handheld console class gaming computers.
The Taiwanese MSI has presented a whole range of new technology products at the ongoing CES 2025 trade fair in Las Vegas. The novelties include e.g. new laptops and desktop computers as well as components and accessories. Included in the coverage are also MSI’s fresh-from-the-oven QD-OLED gaming monitors, which we reported on last week, as well as the Claw 8 AI+ and Claw 7 AI+ gaming computers from the handheld console class that we reported on in December.
At the top of the new laptops is the limited-edition Titan 18 HX Dragon Edition Norse Myth laptop with an 18-inch and 120 hertz 4K screen, inspired by Scandinavian mythology, which will apparently be available in different configurations, but at its best, the new product is equipped with Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285HX mobile processor and GeForce RTX 5090 – with a mobile display driver. Up to 96 gigabytes of DDR5 memory can be included, and according to MSI, the power from the laptop is 270 watts with the help of OverBoost technology. The whole beauty is cooled with a vapor chamber solution.
Below the Titan are also the Raider and Vector series laptops with updated features aimed at gaming and power use. On the graphics card side, RTX 50-series mobile graphics cards are also promised, with either Intel’s Core Ultra 200HX series or AMD’s Ryzen 9000HX series mobile processor depending on the model. At best, laptops offer 260 watts of power.
In addition to the Core Ultra 200HX series, the slightly lighter and updated Stealth series laptops will also be available with AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 series mobile processors, which include support for Microsoft’s Copilot+ artificial intelligence. The new Stealth models also have an RTX 50 mobile graphics card.
The new laptops aimed at the business side are the new Venture and VenturePro, which are also equipped with the new 200-series Core Ultra mobile processors. The VenturePro model is also available with a separate graphics card, but MSI does not reveal the features of business laptops in more detail in its announcement. The battery life is promised to be 4-5 hours and there is at least a 100 watt power supply via USB-C and the screen sizes are between 14 and 17 inches.
MEG Vision X AI, enhanced with artificial intelligence, equipped with a 13-inch touch screen, was introduced to the tabletops. The display also has a built-in microphone and speakers that allow the user to chat with the AI assistant. On the iron side, the MEG Vision X AI has at its best an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K desktop processor and an RTX 50-series graphics card, the options of which are not defined in detail even on the computer’s product pages, but there is probably enough choice up to the RTX 5090. Up to 128 GB of DDR5 memory can be included, and the computer also supports Wi-Fi 7 and Thunderbolt 4, for example.
Project Zero X takes the joy out of the rear connections and hiding cables of MSI’s Project Zero motherboards and offers a panoramic view inside the case with no less than four glass panels, so only the right side of the computer is metal. MSI has yet to say which components the Project Zero X will be available with, but it will undoubtedly include one of the manufacturer’s Project Zero motherboards.
Among the mini computers, MSI introduced two NUC computers, which are usually manufactured by Asus. Cubi NUC AI+ 2M and Cubi NUC AI 1UM offer easy portability and space saving with useful features such as a fingerprint sensor, a separate Copilot key and two Thunderbolt 4 connections.
MSI’s new MAG motherboards are for Intel’s 200 series Core Ultra processors B860M Mortar WiFi and B860 Tomahawk WiFi and for AMD’s Ryzen 9000 processors B850 Edge Ti WiFi and B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi. The motherboards offer the latest features slightly below the high-end category with their B860 and B850 chipsets. Includes e.g. EZ PCIe Release and EZ M.2 Clip II clips and an integrated IO protection plate make it easier to remove the graphics card and SSD.
The new power supplies are the 1600-watt MEG Ai1600T PCIE5 and the 1250-watt MPG A1250GS PCIE5. Both are fully modular and support ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards and include two 12V-2×6 power cables for graphics cards. The power supplies have Titanium certification from 80 Plus, Cybenetics and PPLP.
On the accessory side, MSI brings a number of wireless novelties, such as Strike keyboards with the manufacturer’s own Sonic switches and hot-swap feature, Versa mice with 26,000 DPI sensitivity, Force game controllers with trigger buttons based on the Hall effect and customizable back buttons, and Maestro gaming headsets. All peripherals are placed under the MSI Gear label.
Datamag 40Gbps is an updated version of MSI’s previous Datamag 20Gbps. The external SSD drive attaches magnetically to both iPhones and PCs and supports USB4.
MSI did not yet provide more details on the release schedules or pricing of the presented products.
