A man in his 30s who assaulted and killed an elementary school classmate in Incheon was immediately arrested by the police.
The police announced on the 24th that they urgently arrested Mr. A, a man in his 30s, on charges of assault and death, and applied for an arrest warrant.

Mr. A is accused of assaulting and killing Mr. B, a man in his 30s who was an elementary school classmate, at an apartment complex in Cheongcheon-dong, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, at approximately 9:20 p.m. on the 23rd.
This incident came to light when a passerby found two men lying on a bench in an apartment complex. The police, who received a report from a witness, were dispatched to the scene and confirmed that Mr. B was dead, and immediately arrested Mr. A.
According to the police investigation, the two were elementary school classmates, and on the day of the incident, they were found to have been involved in an argument after drinking at a nearby restaurant.
During the police investigation, Mr. A claimed that he was intoxicated, saying, “I was so drunk that I don’t remember exactly what happened at the time.”
The police applied for an arrest warrant for Mr. A and requested an autopsy from the National Institute of Forensic Science to confirm the exact cause of Mr. B’s death.
A police official said, “It appears that Mr. A knocked down Mr. B during the scuffle, but we are continuing to investigate witnesses and Mr. A to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.”
Meanwhile, whether Mr. A will be detained will be decided at the pre-arrest interrogation (warrant substantive review) held at the court at 2 p.m. on the 25th.
The police emphasize that they will thoroughly investigate the circumstances of the incident and are focusing on securing additional evidence and related statements. Since a trivial dispute led to terrible results, responsibility will be clearly identified.
