On Saturday evening, passers-by saw a human head on the street in the Scottish metropolis. At first they thought it was a Halloween prank, but to their horror, the head was right.
In the vicinity of the accident, there are many bars in which Halloween parties were held at that time. Many revelers initially thought the head was a Halloween prank until the police showed up with a large contingent and evacuated the surrounding bars.
Social networks have been flooded with videos of the found head and the reactions of passers-by when they see the head, but police are asking the public not to share them out of respect for the deceased.
There was also speculation that the man may have been the victim of a violent attack. The police, however, found a different explanation. According to their information, the head belongs to a 74-year-old man who was involved in the accident. Shortly before 7:30 p.m., a man was hit by a bus and died as a result of the collision, but it is not clear how he could have lost his head in the accident.
Is it even possible to cut off a head in a car accident?
Theoretically yes, there are even more possibilities, says dr. Mark Benecke. The criminal biologist told BILD: “This can happen, for example, through a protruding edge, which then has the same effect as a guillotine.” But such accidents are unusual, according to an experienced criminalist: “I can’t think of a case where this has happened as a result of a traffic accident.”
