In the United Kingdom, a Mercedes EQA suddenly caught fire while parked in front of its owners’ house. This mysterious fire damaged the family home.

A Mercedes EQA catches fire and causes heavy damage

For several years, Mercedes has had a rather complete electric range. We find in particular the EQB, EQE, EQS models and their SUV versions. However, the EQA model has recently gained attention in the UK in a dramatic situation. According to BBC Newsa Mercedes EQA parked in front of a family home suddenly caught fire for no apparent reason. The safety of the home was therefore jeopardized because of the flames.

CCTV images were able to film this unusual scene. You can see the vehicle covered in smoke after a sudden explosion. The owners of the vehicle were alerted by their son who heard the explosion from his bedroom. Initially, the parents tried to smother the fire with garden hoses. These efforts only slowed the spread of the flames.

Still, firefighters confirmed to homeowners that they were close to completely losing their home due to their car catching fire. This Mercedes electric vehicle was only two years. It counted approximately 45,000 kilometers on his counter. At the time of the fire, it was parked and not in charge.

The mystery persists around the causes of the fire

The flames spread so quickly that the vehicle was completely reduced to ashes. Additionally, the home’s garage door was severely damaged. The German manufacturer has been informed of this incident and has already contacted the owners’ insurance to begin an investigation into the cause of the explosion which led to the fire. Mercedes proposed a replacement car to the victims, but the latter refused, explaining that they were not ready to get back into a Mercedes vehicle.

The investigation has therefore been launched but no recall linked to fire risks has been issued by Mercedes concerning EQAs in the United Kingdom. It is therefore likely that this is an isolated incident, but we still need to know the cause.

Unfortunately, electric cars continue to be victims of the flames. This does not only concern Mercedes, but all manufacturers. In the end, the owners of this car remain marquis by this unusual experience. They certainly weren’t prepared to see their recent electric vehicle catch fire in front of their home.
