Domestic. Former Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt’s debt information company cannot pay its own debts and has now gone bankrupt itself – an event that will be expensive for the seasoned politician.
Credpoint, a startup founded in 2020 with former Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt as both an investor and chairman of the board.
Reinfeldt emphasized the importance of better debt information for society. But in March of this year he suddenly left the board, and now the company has been declared bankrupt.
Credpoint had collected SEK 10.4 million in risk capital and was valued at SEK 46 million. Reinfeldt owned 4.3 percent of the company, equivalent to approximately SEK 2 million, which has now been lost.
Bankruptcy administrator Isak Hübinette hopes to be able to sell the company’s software, however.
Despite Credpoint having no revenue in 2023 and a loss of SEK 3.3 million, the founder saw an opportunity in an upcoming central debt register.
There were also plans to launch a business register for B2B players in the third quarter of 2024.
