A new Maserati super sports car will debut on August 16

A new model will debut at Monterey Car Week in California on August 16th Maserati MC20. Built, according to what the company declared, thanks to the experience gained on the track with the GT2 version, it will represent “the state of the art of Maserati performance” and will bring “innovative technological solutions and impressive aerodynamic performance to the road”.

An extreme road

The details about this new extreme road version of the Maserati MC20 that will debut the day after mid-August are still very few. In fact, the company has limited itself to publishing a single teaser photo (which you can see on the cover) where you can clearly see the front of the modified MC20, with the sockets d’aria on the fenders of the track version GT2 and equipped with new aerodynamic appendages in carbon fiber.

It could therefore be a GT version approved for road use, perhaps equipped with a faster gearbox, even stiffer suspension and various aerodynamic features.

More powerful?

Just like the aesthetics, there is still practically nothing known about the engine. What is certain, however, is that under the hood there should be an evolution of the V6 Nettuno, probably with an injection of extra power – perhaps up to 740 CV as on the MCXtrema version, the Maserati with the most powerful internal combustion engine ever and produced in just 62 units – to guarantee even superior performance.

To find out more, we’ll have to wait until August 16, when the car will be fully unveiled at The Quail event during Monterey Car Week.
