A new payment for indigenous students has been approved in Yamal

In Yamal, a new support measure has been introduced for first-year university students studying full-time. Starting from 2025, first-year students from low-income indigenous minorities families will be able to receive allowances in the amount of 80 thousand rubles.

This is reported by URA.RU with reference to the district government.

Also, a one-time payment is provided to students from families leading a traditional lifestyle of indigenous minorities of the North (INM), the report said.

The support measure was approved by the head of the region, Dmitry Artyukhov, after communicating with tundra dwellers.

The payment can be used to pay expenses for travel, rent, clothing and office supplies.

Earlier, the administration of the Tazovsky district of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug spoke about expanding the list of social support measures for indigenous minorities.
