The Belkin brand is voluntarily recalling its 2-in-1 10K Belkin BoostCharge Pro charger for Apple Watch, which can both charge the Apple connected watch but also act as a power bank for any other device in USB-C. A fire risk has been detected.
The famous brand Belkin is forced to immediately recall one of its chargers for Apple Watch due to a fire risk, we learn PhoneArena. A recall notice was thus published in around twenty languages. The message is alarming enough to take this incident very seriously.
Stop using it
« If you have purchased a Belkin BoostCharge Pro 10K Power Bank for Apple Watch and USB-C devices, please immediately stop using it, disconnect it from any electrical power source, and contact us for instructions.», It is written in the press release.
The latter continues: “A manufacturing defect may in certain circumstances cause the external battery to overheat, which may expose consumers to the risk of fire. No injuries have been reported and no other Belkin wireless chargers or Belkin products are affected by this recall».

What should you do if you are affected by this recall? It is particularly recommended to place the external battery in a safe and dry place, “away from any flammable materials or anything that could damage it“. Furthermore, it is not recommended to throw the device into a trash or recycling bin.
