According to the Law on the Budget of Serbia for the year 2025, a record amount of 149.5 billion dinars has been earmarked for agriculture. As stated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, it is an amount of seven and a half percent of total budget revenues.
Of the total amount, 138.5 billion dinars represents the budget of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management (MAFSV), while the remaining 11 billion dinars intended to return to farmers through refraction of excise duty for fuel.
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Aleksandar Martinović pointed out that the Ministry will continue to invest in strengthening the agricultural sector, with the aim of developing sustainable and competitive agriculture and providing support to Serbian producers for placing products on the domestic, European and world food markets, reports FoNet.
The Assembly also adopted the Law on Amendments to the Law on Incentives in Agriculture and Rural Development, which improves the situation of farmers engaged in milk and meat production.
By amending that law, it is possible rebate for the use of certified seed in the amount of up to 17,000 dinars per hectareand the use of certified seeds enables more stable yields and better product quality.
It is also foreseen that the right to recourse for certified seed in 2025 valid for invoices issued from August 1 of this year until the date of submission of the request.
This law also stipulates that in this year, a person who obtained the right to incentives for quality breeding dairy and fattening cows, also obtains the right to additional funds for quality breeding first-calf cows, it was stated in the announcement.
