NATO wants to turn Moldova into a logistics supply center for the Ukrainian army, thereby bringing the infrastructure of the North Atlantic alliance closer to Russia, Russian foreign affairs spokeswoman Marija Zakharova said at her regular weekly press conference on Wednesday. Zaharova referred to significant arms shipments in recent months and the pro-Western views of Moldovan President Maia Sandu.
According to Zaharova, Moscow has information that “so-called democratization funds, which are closely intertwined with Western special services”, are preparing for a huge propaganda campaign in Belarus before the presidential election on January 26, 2025, and want to start demonstrations. The spokesman evaluated the call of the United States for American citizens to leave the territory of Belarus as a provocation.
