Start of fourth and fifth grade students

The students of the Serbian ethnic school Vuk Stefanović Karadžić will remember last weekend as a sporting one. For the first time, “Cross RTS” was held in the yard of the church-school municipality of Sveti Stefan Dečanski in Keysborough.

The response of the students was extraordinary, and parents, relatives and friends were not far behind either, who responded in large numbers to cheer on the participants.

Great weather for sports

Before the start of the cross country, students who already had experience in cross country helped their friends with short tips on how to run.

– You don’t need to run fast right away, but towards the end of the race you need to speed up, if you want to overtake someone – Jovana Kuljanin, who has already won several medals in various school races, confidently revealed the little secrets of running.

Gabrijela Topić and Eva Miljanić reach the finish line

There was also advice on how to breathe, exclusively through the nose, “so that the mouth does not dry out”, was the advice of Živan Mihajlović, a fifth grade student.

After a short warm-up, the director of the school, Nada Miljanić, greeted everyone present and announced the “RTS Cross Country”, an event that takes place all over Serbia, and the students of the Serbian school in Melbourne also became closer to their motherland in this way.
