A startling difference: The Harrises spent twice as much on campaign advertising as Trump

Kamala Harris, and before that Joe Biden the value of his political campaign ads was $880 million,

while Donald Trump during his entire presidential campaign, less than half of that, $425 million, was spent on ads.

Apart from thatfor the Democratic presidential candidate campaign outside organizations spent another $1.8 billion, while the Republican campaign was given $1.4 billion by groups outside the party.

In the congressional election held at the same time as the presidential election, the upper house, i.e the election of 33 members of the Senate was accompanied by a total of 2.6 billion dollars worth of campaign advertisingof which 1.4 billion dollars were spent by the parties and related organizations on the Democratic candidates and 1.2 billion on the Republican candidates.

The most expensive Senate race was for Ohio’s state senator, which cost $538 million and resulted in a victory for Republican candidate Bernie Moreno over 6-year incumbent Democrat Sherod Brown.

The lower house of Congress, in order to elect the 435 members of the House of Representatives, the candidates running in the colors of the two parties published a total of 1.7 billion dollars in advertising, of which 940 million dollars went to the Democratic Party and its organizations, while 760 million dollars went to the coffers of the Republican Party or external organizations close to the parties.

In the 2024 US elections, local elections for various positions were held in many areas, with a total advertising budget of 2.9 billion dollars. Supporters and opponents of the initiative spent the most, 122 million, on the campaign for the referendum on the legalization of marijuana consumption in Florida.
