No one suspected that Mlada was seriously ill. The three-year-old girl’s terrible diagnosis came to light almost by accident: a year ago, on the eve of the New Year, Mlada had a cold and had her blood tested. The test results shocked the doctors! Mlada was taken by ambulance from the clinic to the hospital. And soon a preliminary diagnosis was made, which, unfortunately, was confirmed: idiopathic aplastic anemia, super-severe form.
Mlada’s disease is rare and deadly. In idiopathic aplastic anemia, the bone marrow loses the ability to produce the main blood cells: white blood cells, platelets, red blood cells. This leads to severe consequences for the body. Due to the disease, Mlada has almost completely no immunity. The girl lives in isolation from the outside world, any cold can become a mortal threat for her! In addition, the baby’s body experiences constant oxygen starvation, which is why Mlada often turns pale and feels weak. Another consequence of the disease is poor blood clotting. Now, in order to live, Mlada requires weekly blood transfusions!
The girl’s treatment began almost immediately. Already in February of this year, Mlade received the first course of immunosuppressive therapy Atgam. The course was supposed to lead to an increase in the baby’s blood counts. In June, growth began, but then it was interrupted, and some indicators even began to decline! Now Mlada will have to undergo a second course of immunosuppressive therapy. The likelihood that the therapy will not work is very high. If this happens, the last chance of salvation for Mlada will be an urgent bone marrow transplant! It will be impossible to postpone it: due to regular blood transfusions, iron accumulates in the baby’s body, which can negatively affect the engraftment of the donor bone marrow.

The girl is ready to undergo an urgent bone marrow transplant. But the cost of the procedure is astronomical – 25,880,800 rubles! Mlada’s family does not have the opportunity to pay for such an expensive treatment. Therefore, with faith in a miracle, the girl’s parents turned to the Alyosha charity foundation, which opened a fundraiser. At the moment, it remains to collect eight percent of the required amount, about two million rubles. This is a lot of money, but with joint efforts good people can make a miracle a reality! Everyone can take part in saving Mlada!
